I'm NOT READY YET!
Bryce told me the other day in the car "Mom, someone told this crazy story at school... there was a lady and her dog and they loved each other so much that they got married, had S-E-X (Bryce's spelling, not mine) and had babies."
This is the first time I've ever heard the word sex come from Bryce's mouth. I knew he'd say it one day, but I'm just not ready. He told me once (about 3 months ago) that our cats were 'mating'... they were licking each other's faces. That was as close to "sex" as he could imagine at that time. Bryce still thinks kissing is the most disgusting thing he's ever seen. But I'm sure deeper, more detailed questions are on their way. He is in 3rd grade, in public school... the questions are going to start flowing any time now. And I have to act like a mom and answer his questions, right? Whaaaaaaaaaa, I don't want to! ;(
I have so much to do today, lots of customers to call to get salsa orders placed. The last thing I should be doing is posting a blog... so bye! Oh, and thanks Tommy for changing your post. Now I regret my request... loogies don't seem so bad now.

I know how much you have been dreading this day, but it really is the best for you to educate him rather than him hearing rumors through his friends. You know? There are a ton of books out there for kids. Bryce is such a reader that it might be a good way for you to help him understand. I did a quick search on Amazon. It looked like it might be helpful. It is a place to start. "It's So Amazing! A Book About Eggs, Sperm, Birth, Babies, and Families" by Robie H. Harris. Good luck.
I just read a little more on this book and maybe it isn't a good choice. Apparently it focuses on alternate families...so yeah. Just a heads up. Basically, my recommendation is find an appropriate book that Bryce could relate to...it'll make the whole issue a bit easier.
I'll change it again soon. Hmmm, what shall i talk about next.....
